BIO:
Affleck was born in Berkeley California.His mother Chris Affleck is a school teacher.His father Tim Affleck is a social worker. His family moved to Cambridge Massachusetts when he was very young.
Affleck attended Occidental College in Los Angeles as well as the University of Vermont where he studied Middle Eastern affairs for one semester but then dropped out to pursue his acting career. Ben also has a younger brother actor Casey Affleck who was born in 1975. Ben wanted to be an actor ever since he could remember and his first acting experience was for a Burger King commercial when he was on the PBS mini series The Voyage of the Mimi (1984).
He also appeared in a number of television movies and in the 1990s, he landed roles in Lifestories Families in Crisis and a number of films including School Ties (1992), which also featured Brendan Fraser and Matt Damon.
As 2000's rolled onward, Affleck would appear in a number of films that garnered a lukewarm reception like Smokin' Aces He's Just Not That Into You (2009) and State of Play. He would reverse that trend with a vengeance in 2007, directing and writing the critically acclaimed crime thriller Gone Baby Gone.Ben Affleck's other movies as star include Paycheck (2003), Hollywoodland (2006), State of Play (2009) and The Company Men (2010). As director (and co-star), Affleck has also done The Town (2010, with Jon Hamm) and Argo (2012), which also starred Affleck and won that year's Oscar for best picture.
