Ashley Tisdale (born July 2, 1985 in Deal, New Jersey) is an American actress and singer who rose to fame playing Maddie Fitzpatrick in the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical film series.Tisdale began her career in show business at age three, and sang for President Bill Clinton at age 12. Manager Bill Perlman discovered her in a New Jersey mall and sent Tisdale to numerous auditions for commercials, resulting in her placement in over 100 national network TV ads.She went on to star in the High School Musical film series as the female antagonist Sharpay Evans.
After her first High School Musical appearance, she pursued a solo music career and released her debut album, Headstrong in February 2007 and debuted at number five in the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold. She followed that with her second studio album Guilty Pleasure in 2009. She has also gained fame in animation as the voice of Candace Flynn in the Disney Channel show Phineas & Ferb. She has also starred in TV as Savannah Monroe in The CW’s 2010 short-lived show Hellcats and the straight-to-DVD High School Musical spin-off Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure.
